It is assumed that the marriage of William Hurden and Louisa Shepherd in 1843 in Bonham refers to this Louisa, and that she was born illegitimately, the dau of Fanny Shepherd. This would be why no father was listed on her marriage certificate. It is assumed that Robert CARTER was her father, as he apparently married her mother within a few months of her birth, although no marriage record has been located. There are many assumptions in this particular part of the family, and this should be reviwed each time new data is acquired.
