Samuel TARGET was born in 1729 at Stourton, Wiltshire, England; Birthyear from age at death, assuming that the man who married Elizabeth LAWRENCE in Stourton in 1751, is identical with the man who died in Evecreech in 1802, and also identical with the grandson of John WHITE, butcher (See his will).

Note*
Other information; I assume that William TARGET was the father of Sarah POPLE's children. Sarah had been living with him at least since 1851, before the children were born. The boy William may have been named after his father. William TARGET was shown married and living with his first wife in the 1841 census, then in the 1851 and 1861 censuses, he was living with Sarah POPLE, while his wife lived in Gloucester Place. William TARGET married Sara POPLE within weeks of the death of his first wife.

I have allocated the burial in 1771 to this man #418. Their respective birthdates have been allocated on the basis of the age at burial. So #418 has a baptism and parents, but #5992 does not.
(Witness) Will
19 August 1765
He witnessed the will of Francis JUPE on 19 August 1765 at Stourton, Wiltshire, England; Names brother-in-law William Read of Black Sloe in Stourton, wife Jane, and children John, Robert, Benjamin, Sarah, Francis and William by his 3rd (?) wife Jane. Very odd since he appears to have re-married in 1759 and had two more sons by Mary Field. Perhaps there was more than one Francis Jupe. Witnesses were William Target (#418 assigned on the basis that his wife was surnamed JUPE) and William Feltham (#16 assigned based on age).4
Other information; William TARGET, the father of William TARGET the florist, may just as easily have been the son of William and Ann TARGET, born 1761, except that an infant WIlliam TARGET was buried on 13 Dec 1761, which must have been the latter.
William TARGET was born in 1729; A William TARGET was baptised in Tisbury on 23 Jan 1726, s/o Mary. Might be hm, but you'd expect his age at death to be exaggerated upwards, not downwards.

Richard TARR lived at Butleigh.
