Other information; There were three people called John WILLIS baptised in 1796, including two on the same day. Only one seems to have remained alive and in Penselwood into the time of the 1851 census. He was married to Susannah. At this point, the allocation of the John WILLIS (father of George) as the same one who was the son of John & Mary, is arbitary.
John & Susannah WILLIS began having children baptised in Penselwood after John & Jane stopped. It's possible that Susannah was a second wife (but no record of burial of Jane in Penselwood) or that John & Jane left Penselwood.
There's a burial of 37-year-old Jane WILLIS in Queen Camel on 13 Oct 1826. It would fit with a re-marriage for John WILLIS, but there is no evidence of the link. Would need to see the original burial record.
John WILLIS married Elizabeth (WILLIS) on 16 October 1745 at St John the Baptist, Brewham, Somerset, England. "John Applegate & Eliz. [blank] of Penn."1
